One Wasn’t Enough

This past May, I ran my first marathon. It was the fruition of a relentless, nagging goal . It was not a fun experience in anyway, but it brought a sense of prideful accomplishment that is hard to come by. The first go-round was a great learning experience and know I can’t quiet my encouraging inner voices. I have convinced myself to dedicate another four months of training, suffer the early mornings, late nights, long days and inevitable injuries, because in the end I know the sacrifice is worth the reward. Runner has become a defining word for me and it’s a definition I am proud of it.

My training is currently on hiatus due to a backpacking trip across Europe. I haven’t done a single mile of running, I have however walked as many as ten miles a day and am curious to see how the training will pick up.
