Week Five – Bring On The Miles
Starting tomorrow my training will take a drastic turn. I am through the strength and base period and will be moving on to speed and endurance. If everything goes as I’ve inked it out, I will be running over 350 miles in the next 7 weeks. I am beginning to remember, why I love running. When I run, I am free from the woes of the everyday world. The physical pain shadows my mind and all of my thought is concentrated on the physical exertion. All the early morning runs and trips to the gym after work; enduring the pain, the sore muscles, shin splints, blisters and ice baths are all worthwhile. The stress free feeling and sense of accomplishment is priceless.
