Week Eight – The First Twenty Miler

Here are my week eight workouts.

Monday – Rest Day

Tuesday – Speed – 12 x 400m @ 6:00 pace (90 sec.) with 100m jog between intervals, followed by a three mile jog at 8:00 pace. Injury prevention and core work.

Wednesday – Nice and easy 6 mile run. Worked upper body and legs.

Thursday – 8 miles @ 7:45 pace. Injury prevention and core work.

Friday – 6 miles @ 6:50 pace, followed by a one mile cool down.

Saturday – 30 min on the cross-trainer, followed by 2 miles @ 8:00 pace. Injury prevention, core work and upper body.

Sunday – My first 20 miler of the year. 20 miles between 8:00 and 8:15 pace. I used GU gels every 30 min after the first 45 min.
